I am an artist and printmaker living and working in rural North Devon. I create multi-layered linocuts, inspired largely by my adventures and wanderings around the coastline and beyond. I use traditional printmaking techniques and tools, and I constantly strive for the highest possible level of craftsmanship.
My designs are bold, yet detailed and I aim to capture the textures, rhythms and character of the places that inspire me. I have a deep interest in the natural world, the environment and the role we play in shaping our surroundings.
Prior to setting up as a printmaker, I studied Architecture and worked for an engineering firm. This training provided me with strong design and creative principles, which now inform my current work and printmaking process. Relief printing, and in particular the reduction printing process, appeals to both the logical and the creative sides of my personality.
