Kelly Stevens-McLaughlan is a full time, artist originally from London but now based in Devon, where she works in acrylics, predominantly on canvas, with a strong focus on modern, boldly colourful animal portraits.
Despite her passion for art and creativity Kellys career as an artist didn't start until her mid 40s’s, as she was encouraged to follow a more traditional path when young. She embarked on an entrepreneurial career that saw her launch and grow numerous businesses, all the while painting and crafting for her own pleasure when spare moments arose. In 2013 she made the decision that the time had come to concentrate on her art.
Kelly then developed a hugely successful international career as a digital artist/illustrator working under a studio name, specifically focused on the United States as her primary market. She has shown many times in the US and for three years had her own showroom in Las Vegas.
In 2022 Kelly decided that she wanted to change her direction to focus on her true passion of creating large acrylic paintings on canvas, and this is where she has found her calling.
Kellys work is mainly focused on animal life and whilst much is influenced by her home and studios rural surroundings, she also likes to explore other subjects, but always maintaining a strong, joyful and boldly colourful botanical and floral influence, with abstract elements.
