Annabel Hill of Annabel Hill Design is a print maker and surface pattern designer. She has always drawn from childhood however her Textile Design degree gave her the skills to develop these into patterns and designs.
She set up her company in 2009 and she now specialises in botanical prints using traditional techniques and digital software.
Living in North Devon for the past 10 years, she has honed in on local hedgerows and rock pools of the local beaches. She loves drawing and creating ink studies out in nature, then uses these to create prints using her printing press. Patterns are then made using digital methods and the printed natural fabrics are wrapped into lampshades, cushions, scarves and other smaller items. Screen and block printing is another passion.
Furnishing and fashion items are quirky, bright, ethereal and some kaleidoscopic, with a slant towards the Art Nouveau movement.
She also teaches from her studio, Appledore Print Studio, running paper and fabric printmaking courses.
