Starting a Creative Art Business Masterclass

This ArtMakers panel discussion will involve Sarah Jackson – painter and illustrator (Jackson and Young); Vicky Lindo – ceramicist and Annabel Hill – printmaker; covering everything from registering self-employed through making, to marketing, and creating sales.
Listen to how they work with paint, collages, clay, textiles, cards, using digital techniques to transfer designs from paper to fabric, and selling via a gallery, Instagram. Twitter and facebook. Their journeys cover everything from going to art college, finding a partner to work with, to working with an agent and setting up their own gallery. It reflects the diversity of opportunities in northern Devon from running a studio in your own home to finding inspiration in the landscape. Their experience ranges from creating work for major magazines to award winning work, collections and exhibitions – all created in northern Devon.
Discover why animals, especially cats, play such a major part in their works. What is the process from taking a walk along a Devon lane to creating a print from a seed head. Why working sustainably is important? What is it like starting as an artist and how do you get known?
