Unicornfest will be one of the mane attractions in Bristol next summer! The high profile sculpture trail will feature a giant herd of stunning ‘life-sized’ unicorn sculptures displayed in a colourful trail across the city and the surrounding region from 1st July to 3rd September 2023. The inspirational unicorn sculptures will celebrate the 650th anniversary of Bristol, showcase the talents of the region’s artists and creative industries, raise the profile of local businesses, increase visitor numbers and raise awareness of Leukaemia Care. After 9 weeks on the streets and public spaces of Bristol, inspiring residents and visitors to the city of all ages, the magical herd will be rounded up and groomed to perfection for the Farewell to the Unicorns auction preview weekend in late September, before being auctioned on 5th October to raise funds for Leukaemia Care. We are looking for talented West Country artists to decorate the impressive unicorn sculptures. Artists are invited to submit imaginative design ideas, which could range from colourful abstracts to intricately painted scenes, mosaics, street art and even interactive unicorns. The designs will be shortlisted and put into a Unicorn Artists Portfolio for sponsors to select their favourite design. Artists chosen by sponsors or commissioned by the organisers, will be commissioned by Unicornfest to decorate their sculptures next Spring. Commissioned artists’ work will potentially reach a million people, inspiring unicorn fans of all ages. The event will connect artists with local businesses and other organisations and we hope that Unicorn artists and their sponsors will continue their relationship for many years to come.
