Description Painted in the studio from a sketch made on a walk from Withypool along a section of the Two Moors Wa. I sat on a rock in the middle of the River Barle and sketched and painted the beautiful light as it fell through the gaps in the trees. My friend was sitting on the river bank. She is in the painting. I have been exploring how we as humans connect with the landscape and these larger works are about experimenting with the impression or shadow of human existence within the location. Often depicted as crudely drawn, implications of the human form. I enjoyed the light and the moment in time and capturing them on the canvas.
